Three Droids And A Princess, A Lego Star Wars Collection

Miro Dudas Lego Star Wars Collection Leia And Droids

Here is a Lego Star Wars collection of brick built figures based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. There is Princess Leia (the only human), R5-D4, R2-D2, and C-3PO. They are built mostly in scale with each other. R2-D2 and R5-D4 are great little builds with a lot of character. In fact the R2-D2 reminds me of the new and rare R2-D2 polybag (30611) from Lego. C-3PO is a great build, and a lot of time went into making sure he was perfect. The key was finding all the correct gold pieces. The Lego vent pieces as the torso wiring is a great solution. Last but not least is Princess Leia. Her brick built figure has the famous hair buns, and is much more posable then she looks. Check out the photos below to see what she can do. A rather large set was also built of the space ship Tantive IV. Allowing a recreation of one of the most famous scenes in the series.

The Princess Leia and R2-D2 were built as a tribute for Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker. Below, you can really see how well these Lego figures work together. The title of this photo is “”Did you miss me?”

The Rebel Fleet. A Lego Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back MOC.

mortesv lego star wars rebel fleet moc 01

“But the glow of the stars is just a faint glimmer compared to the magnificence of the kickass Rebel Fleet just outside!”

The Rebels in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back are a ragtag group of resistance fighters. They have desperately put together a fleet of starships and starfighters as they prepare to assault the Empire. This fleet is one of the most iconic scenes from Empire Strikes Back, and a lot of kids who saw it in theaters wanted to create their own in Lego. For many years this proved challenging; but now with a lot of time, artistic inspiration, and a lot of money, you too can create your own Lego Star Wars Fleet.

Mortesv, the self-styled Admiral of the Rebel Fleet, has spent a good chunk of time recreating the fleet in Lego. The whole project is mostly in scale. The stars of the show are huge Lego MOCs of the Redemption and Tantive IV. If you look carefully you can even find a few unwelcome guests among the fleet.

There are 52 ships represented here. 15 X-Wings, 16 Y-Wings, 6 B-Wings, 5 A-Wings, 3 GR-75 Medium Transports, 2 TIE Fighters, 1 Corellian Corvette (Tantive IV), 1 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (The Redemption), 1 Firespray-class interceptor (Slave 1),  1 Lambda-class T-4a Shuttle (Tyderium), and 1 Millennium Falcon.

A whole system of clear support structures and connectors keep the Rebel Fleet afloat. This helps keep the focus on the ships themselves. With all the detail and greebling the last thing you want to do is hide anything behind ugly structures.

Kill him. Kill him now. – A Lego Star Wars MOC

Cecilia Fritzvold Lego Star Wars Kill Him

“Kill him. Kill him now.” A famous line from one of the most memorable scenes from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Cecilia Fritzvold has faithfully recreated this moment in Lego. There are a lot of great details here, but the most impressive is the background. Full of tiny spaceships battling it out. The forced perspective works extremely well.

“I initially tried to include a larger area of the room in my build, as I wanted to include at least the bottom part of the stairs they walk down, and leave some more space for Obi-Wan, but I had to cut it down a bit as I couldn’t fit it all on 32×32. It was also very important to me from the start to be able to show the battle going on outside with the use of some micro spaceships, so I had to leave some room for those behind the windows.”

The Force is Strong with these Lego Star Wars Posters

For the 2015 Star Wars Celebration, held in Anaheim California, Lego created a whole series of Lego Star Wars posters. The posters are all recreations of famous Star Wars posters, except in Lego. The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith are based on the theatrical release posters, while A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi are based on the Special Edition release. This collection makes for a great series by avoiding the teaser posters, and the original trilogy theatrical posters. A continuity is presented that just looks awesome. Maybe in the future Lego will revisit this idea and release more Lego Star Wars posters (the original Star Wars poster sure would be appreciated).

These Lego Star Wars posters were given out at the Star Wars Celebration, if you didn’t attend, there are many of these available online at various auction websites (eBay!).

Star Wars Celebration Exclusive Lego Set. The Tatooine Mini-Build.

Lego Star Wars, Tatooine Mini Build

Star Wars Celebration is making a whole lot of news this week. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the big Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser #2 release, or the Star Wars Battlefront info. Lego has even released a Star Wars Celebration Exclusive set called the Tatooine Mini-Build. It features 178 pieces and 1 C-3PO Minifigure. The set replicates a Moisture Farm (Lars?), a Sandcrawler, a landspeeder, and mini-builds of C-3PO, R2D2, Luke Skywalker (?), and 2 Jawas. The set is pretty charming but there is no attempt at staying in one scale. If you happen to be in Anaheim, and have tickets to the Celebration, make sure to pick up on of these exclusives!
