The Golden Forest House

Hidden amongst the trees of the Golden Forest stands a friendly house. No better place to rest and spend some time. This Lego MOC is created by Carter Witz. The focus of this scene is actually the color palette. A lot of thought went into using bright colors. The new yellow leaves are the main focus, but some new azure bricks are used in the river, and the new brighter greens can be found all over the place. This creation has a brick built base which has been selectively broken through in a few different places. The effect creates a contained scene that feels like it is a lot bigger. A few of the special details include the ivy plants growing up the chimney, the green Minifigure hand extending the vine running up the house, the classic bay window on the front, and the slightly disheveled shingled roof.

Your Local Lego Blacksmith

When you need a good hammer, a new breastplate, some horseshoes, or even a trusty shield just make your way over to your local blacksmith. Josh Nilson created this Lego Blacksmith to encourage your Minifigures to shop local. The whole scene has been built on a standard baseplate. The most striking feature of this build is the shingled roof. Created by layering a bunch of 1×4 flat plates then in a semi random pattern lifting up some of them on one side. It puts stress on the pieces but in this situation looks great. The brick built birch tree looks great, and looks a lot healthier than the official Lego version in the new Bookshop. A few neat details include the classic dragon shield on display, the LED lighting, the ice cream based smoke from the chimney, and a terrible hair cut.

The Kiruna Watchtower — Mitgardia

In the Guilds of Historica the northern guild of Mitgardia rules over cold and harsh lands. Mitgardia has a series of fortifications to provide safety to travelers. This Lego MOC called the “Kiruna Watchtower” is created by Andreas Lenander. Set in the Historica project, which is a collection of fantasy themed Lego creations working towards creating a fictional world full of lore and adventure. This Lego Watchtower has been built as an entry into the Summer Joust. There are a lot of interesting techniques and details on show. The frozen river and snow break out from the base, a great way to communicate how wild and uncontrollable the environment is. The wooden pier is a great mini build as are the various pine trees. The tower itself is a good example of using texture to increase the detail of Lego. The brick patterned 1×2 pieces can look fake when too many are lined up, which has been avoided by adding in some green details.

Edoras And Meduseld — Lego Lord Of The Rings

In the Lord of the Rings, the hilltop town of Edoras is the setting of some of the most important scenes. It is most well known as the location of Meduseld, the golden hall, where King King Théoden holds court. The film trilogy found the perfect location to create their version of Edoras. The set was constructed in New Zealand on top of a place called Mount Sunday. After visiting this location in person Balbo2 was inspired to create a Lego MOC of Edoras. The final build is an entry into the Colossal Castle Contest, a challenge to create a micro scale castle. The grasslands of Rohan have been recreated as an elaborate base for the town. The layered tan plates mixed with the rock work looks great. A few fun details include the use of Minifigure hands as flags, a Minifigure crossbow used for wooden detail work in some of the buildings, and a micro scale horse and wagon by the gates.

The Witcher Geralt — A Lego Brickheadz Figure

This Lego Brickheadz of the Witcher Geralt is created by Dr. Zarkow. The figure is based on the iconic design from the video games (not the recent Netflix show). An older and more grizzled Geralt which is reflected with the bright white hair and scars. This Brickheadz figure does a great job of capturing the hairstyle and facial hair. It uses exposed studs to reflect the scruffy beard which is a great use of texture. The 2×3 tan flat plate is a perfect piece, and the scar looks good on Geralt. The Witcher armor on the body is simple. The 1×2 grill plates, and the brown and black details recreates the plated leather armor. The only thing missing from the Witcher is his second silver sword. Now I am wondering what all the other characters would look like in this style… The Crones, Uma, or even Zoltan.

The Knucker And The Pie — Lego Folklore

This Lego MOC called “The Knucker And The Pie” is created by Kingmarshy. Built as an entry into Bio-Cup 2020 in the Folklore and Mythology theme. In this case this brick built dragon is based on the tale of The Knucker. An old legend based in the village of Lyminster in Sussex. The village had a dragon problem and a local resident came up with a plan involving a poisoned pie. This Lego build has recreated the mythical dragon. A red and gold beast built using a lot of Bionicle parts. When looking at the detail in the legs you might find Bionicle masks, hands, and armor plating. The rib cage and the tiny wings are great details that lend personality to the Knucker. The dragon is made up of a lot of flexible joints and points. Meaning that it can take up a lot of different poses. The Kuncker comes with two accessories, Jim Puttock as a Lego Minifigure and his delicious poisoned pie.

These Wizards By The Coast Are On Holiday – Lego MOC

The Wizards by the Coast is a Lego MOC built by Josh. A few wizards are enjoying their time off from saving/destroying the world. The build has a bunch of interesting and odd details. The first is the giant terraced garden with water magically flowing down each level until it meets up with the sea. A fun part of the scene is how the water changes from transparent clear, to transparent blue when it hits the ground. There is a giant butterfly feeding on some flowers atop a spiraling spire. And a very tiny Wizards tower is topped by a glowing crystal. A magical spell must fit a glorious interior inside the small tower. A few details that are neat include the Lego Minifigure ice cream being used for waves, the bee hive above the rocky cliff, and the Wizard using magic to grill up some fresh fish.

A Day In The Garden With Noctura

After being banished to the Shadow World by the Elves, Noctura spends her days off in her hidden garden. Even villains need some peace and quiet. This Lego Elves themed MOC is called “Noctura’s Garden” and is built by Kristel. The vignette has been created for the Eurobricks Flower Show. The build comes with a simple base which is a great way to make your Lego MOC displays stand out. The scene features a lovely but dangerous looking forest. Complete with a charming stone pathway. The forest is built out of a lot of black tentacle pieces, and various black flora. There are pink and dark blue leaves, mixed with teeth/thorns. A few glowing gems complete the look. The end result is a perfect fantasy forest. There is no better place to plan revenge than Noctura’s Garden.

Chapter 2: The Shadow of the Past, A Lego LOTR Series

Lego creator Micah Schmidt has been working on their project to recreate every scene from the Lord of the Rings. For Chapter 2: the Shadow of the Past, they have built the fireplace from inside Bag End. This is the pivotal scene where Frodo Baggins receives the One Ring that his uncle Bilbo left for him after his 111th birthday party. The whole set up for the quest to destroy the ring begins in front of this fireplace. The Lego vignette is well built. The wooden arches help to suggest that there is more to the room even though we can only see one wall. It also ties into the design from the previous Bad End Lego build from the prologue. A few of nice details include building a wood pile basket with Lego Minifigure Handcuffs, the compact chair built with a window piece, and the little bellows made out of Minifigure flippers.

A Cute Lego Toothless

This Lego build of Toothless is created by CheeseyStudios. The designer noticed they had a lot of black pieces in their collection and set on a project to create something with them. The settled on a creature and from there built the famous dragon from the How to Train Your Dragon films. This version is based on the younger appearance of Toothless. The build took almost two years to finish. There are some surprising details in here. You can see that the tail is made out of a bunch of Lego tires. A bunch of tubes, hoses, insect parts, and Bionicle plates can be found in the face. There is even the forked tongue. But, most impressive are the giant brick built wings. They are at least thirty studs tall. This build is bigger than it looks, there are a lot of pieces in those feet. Now imagine if this was the bigger, 30 year old Toothless.
