Thomas The Tank Engine Is Haunting My Nightmares

Thomas The Train Is Haunting Your Nightmares - Lego MOC

“Thomas was never the same…” is a Lego MOC built by Leonid An. It is a horrific combination of Thomas the Tank Engine and a spider. A serene smile and eight legs ending in pointy red claws. This type of build is really interesting, as it is combining Duplo, Lego System, and Technic pieces. Most of the connections are made in the middle part of the train/thorax. A complicated setup of legs all meet up in this spot to support Thomas the Train. The two black printed circles on the cab of the train almost look like false eyes. A great detail. Something that may be haunting my nightmares.

Leave The Lights On When Hercules Is Around

Leave The Lights On When Hercules Is Around, Lego MOC

Lego Monsters can be surprisingly horrifying. This Lego “Hercules” is a monstrous creation built by Buffoon. They used the scarab insect as inspiration. Which shows in the exoskeleton style design. A lot of these terrifying beasts use a lot of the Lego Bionicle pieces. I can honestly say that this build uses some pieces that are not entirely familiar. The skull head plates work well for the knee caps, but the other bright translucent blue pieces are really interesting. The plastic wings were used in a recent Ant Man release. Then there are a lot of horns, hooks, and hoses that connect everything together. A time tested way to make almost anything scary. The use of the transparent green/yellow is a great contrast to the blue and black. Maybe someone just needs to give it chance. Maybe Hercules just need a friend. Just make sure to leave the lights on.

It’s Time For A Teeth Cleaning At The Lego Dentist Office

It's Time For A Teeth Cleaning At The Lego Dentist Office, Dental Surgery

This Lego Dentists Office is the creation of jarekwally. Somehow it looks like every dentists office ever built. The scene has the ever imposing dental chair, and all the machinery and tools that go with it. Apparently called a Dental Engine. It has the bright overhead light, the little sink, and all the hoses/cords too. There is a short stool, and even a rolling cabinet with what looks like a Novocaine shot. A desk with a computer for looking up records, and a whole lot of cabinets. The faucet for the sink in the back is a great detail, there is even a drain. Everything is spot on. This Lego Dentist office almost makes the whole thing look pleasant.

Tan’thu The Ancient Entity – A Horrific Lego MOC

Micah Beideman Horrific Lego Tan'thu MOC

Lovecraftian Horrors are something you do not see so much in Lego. There has been a rise in their interest and Lego has even tried creating their own (Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum – 76060). Here is Micah Beideman’s horrific Lego monster, titled Tan’thu: The Ancient Entity. This MOC does a great job of creating the bulging and bulbous body. The eyes and tentacles display a lot of “inside-out” Lego tires. A somewhat popular technique in MOCs these days. The gaping maw is technically impressive. The repetition of elements works extremely well. And, by including a ship (at the center of the display) acting as a reference the humongous size of this Entity is presented.

If you were wondering exactly what was going on behind the scenes to create this beast. Check out the assembly of some of the eyes below. There are over 70 eyes that needed to be built.

Feed me Seymour! A Little Shop of Horrors Lego MOC

Jordan Schwartz Lego The Little Shop Of Horrors

“I’m just a mean green mother from outer space and I’m bad!”

The Little Shop of Horrors is a great cult classic. It’s one of those rare horror musicals, that actually has a whole lot of heart. The films stars, Seymour and Audrey II, have great chemistry.  Jordan Schwartz has recently built their own Lego creation based on The Little Shop of Horrors. This little build features a simple but instantly recognizable Audrey II, which is accompanied by a Lego Minifigure of Seymour. This guy is also a great representation of Rick Moranis, and would be easily at home in many other Lego creations (Ghostbusters). Audrey II is looking very carnivorous, with a row of Lego teeth waiting to sink into some meat. What kind of hijinks will this duo get up to?

Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 14 (71010) Leaked Images!

Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 14, Monsters

Lego is going strong with their Collectible Minifigures theme. The recent Series 13 has proven to be extremely hard to find, with most retailers sold out long ago. 2015 is going to be another weird year for this theme. The next release will be the Simpsons Series 2 (a bunch of early production images were leaked). After that the official Series 14 will be released in the late summer or early fall. Breaking with the normal formula this series will be completely themed for Halloween. There will be 16 various monster and horror themed Minifigs in this release, some of them will even feature some extremely cool new molds.

So far 11 of them have been leaked, with the other 5 still hidden away somewhere. There is the (80s?) Frankenstein, Zombie Office Worker, Zombie Cheerleader, the Tigeress (a female tiger), a Mad Scientist, a Werewolf named Kel, a Zombie Pirate Captain, a Plant Man, a Witch and her Black Cat, a Vampire (actually a Vampiress), and a Skeleton Costume Man.

The Tigeress might be one of the most popular of Minifigures, coming with one of those new Minifig tails, and a neat 1960ish hair piece with ears.

The other stand out is the crazy Mad Scientist. This is the first Minifigure to come with an elongated head. This is a super cool piece but most likely it is attached to the glasses/hair. Making it a little less interesting.

The Werewolf is looking pretty familiar (Monster Fighters) and the Undead Pirate has some awesome printing. Check out the skull and crossbones, this one is looking extra dead.

The Plant Guy is maybe the least interesting figure, and the Witch represents a pretty popular Halloween style.

The Vampiress is looking deadly, and the plainish Skeleton Guy is pretty charming.

The Madness from the Sea. The Great Cthulhu in Lego.

Carl Merriam's The Madness From The Sea, Lego Cthulhu

“It lumbered slobberingly into sight and gropingly squeezed Its gelatinous green immensity through the black doorway… The stars were right again, and what an age-old cult had failed to do by design, a band of innocent sailors had done by accident. After vigintillions of years great Cthulhu was loose again, and ravening for delight.”

— H.P Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu

Carl Merriam's The Madness From The Sea, Lego Cthulhu Back

Carl Merriam has created a horrifying Cthulhu Lego MOC. With a whole lot of specialized Lego pieces that one would not normally associate with a build like this. There are Velociraptor pieces, Medusa bodies, and weird tentacle bits. All of these are combined into a huge SNOT style figure. Which is instantly recognizable, and captures the terror of this monster.

Carl Merriam's The Madness From The Sea, Lego Cthulhu Face

A lot of the details really stand out. A lot of Lego builds have problems when viewed up close, but this Cthulhu looks even better when zoomed in. Especially the mouth area.

Carl Merriam's The Madness From The Sea, Lego Cthulhu Foot

The other stand out detail of “The Madness from the Sea” is the little Lego steam ship. The simplicity is a great contrast to the much more detailed Cthulhu. It also lends a sense of scale to the figure. This thing is supposed to be monstrously big. But, best of all is that this little detail adds so much to the story of this MOC.

“The Lannisters send their regards.” — Lego Red Wedding, Game of Thrones

Diegoboy's The Lannisters Send Their Regards: Lego Red Wedding, Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones SPOILERS!

***

There is one moment in the Game of Thrones series that takes place in A Storm of Swords that changes everything that is expected. The Red Wedding just happens to take place about half way through the book, which is also odd because usually the climax of a story happens near the end.  This moment that every GoT fan knew was coming finally took place on the television series. And, fans of the novels were pleased at just how accurate the show portrayed this infamous moment; while fans who had not read the books watched in horror.

This MOC has some creative use of pieces, for instance the use of the red flower for a bloody wound, and red snakes for entrails. The best part of this depiction of the Red Wedding is just how happy Roose Bolton looks.

Diegoboy created “The Lannisters send their regards” and you can see all the “fun” details on the Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/b_o-y/8962585113/
