There Is A Little Bit Of Magic In This Lego Town

There Is A Little Bit Of Magic In This Lego Town

This Lego build called “A Little Bit of Magic” is created by Midwest Builders. It is a part of the Guilds of Historica, specifically from the west, the Guild of Avalonia. A community of builders who are creating a whole fantasy world. An active group that is always adding new characters, maps, and stories. This scene is a streetscape of the town called Albion. Everything pictured is a jumping off point for stories. The local Flower Merchant seems to know ancient magic. A knight on horseback notices the magical display of talent. And a mysterious rogue seems to watching everything. Some of the stand out details include the brick built tarps / canopies, the lovely signage at each merchant stand, the peeling green paint on the inn, and all the magical trinkets strung up. You can even spot the eye of Sauron. The use of some hidden LEDs is a nice touch, and brings magic to life in this Lego MOC.

The Uncanny Lego X-Men (v2) Minifigures

agoodfella minifigs' Lego X-Men

With the recent releases in the Lego Marvel Superheroes theme, the official Lego X-Men Minifigures are slowly expanding. It seems to be an incredibly slow rate. The only reason we got the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver is because of their appearance in the Avengers. There are so many iconic mutants in the Marvel Universe that most of them will probably never see an official figure. That leaves a great opportunity for custom Minifigs to fill in the roster.

Check out these Uncanny X-Men Minifigures created by agoodfella minifigs. This is the 2nd version of this collection, with new characters, updated appearances, and custom creations adding to the lineup. These feature custom paint, chrome, and even unofficial Minifigs. It all combines to create a roster of X-Men that look amazing.

The Lego Super Friends Project: 31 Custom Figures

JustJon's Custom Lego Super Friends, Superheroes

The Lego Friends figures have proven to be extremely customizable. These 31 custom figures that make up the Lego Super Friends Project prove just that. Created by JustJon, this project was revealed over the 31 days of July. In order to curate a list of possible customs figures, social media was heavily used to reach a wide audience with a wide variety of opinions. The 31 superheroes contain a good mix of characters from DC Comics and Marvel Comics. These figures were made with the use of Lego Minifigures accessories, hair pieces, and a little bit of paint. The larger size (compared to a Minifigure) makes it a whole lot easier to do custom paint work.

“I began the project surreptitiously by posing the question “Who is your favorite super heroine?” on my social networks. I took note of the characters people named and started creating a list on my white board, with the left side containing numbers for the days they were released on and the right side a list of potential characters to make. Once I began creating the custom minifigures, I made sure that each fit into the role of super heroine (as some people did request villains), that no character would be repeated in alternate costumes, and that I would release one per day for the entire month of July. I tried to vary the characters to appease to different audiences and keep things interesting for myself by using characters who were well known in the popular culture and those who were lesser known.” — JustJon

The complete roster of the Lego Super Friends Project includes: Supergirl, Phoenix, Black Widow, Sue Storm, Polaris, Storm, Batgirl, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Captain Marvel, X-23, Stargirl, Zatanna, Psylocke, Wonder Woman, Batwoman, Mary Marvel, Catwoman, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, Saturn Girl, Dazzler, Firestar, Kabuki, Hawkeye, Black Cat, Gamora, Jubilee, Black Canary, Hit-Girl, and Raven.

Lego Assassin’s Creed Rouge: Shay Patrick Cormack Minifigure

Logan Fulford's Lego Assassin's Creed Rouge

Assassin’s Creed is out with a new video game. Titled Assassin’s Creed Rouge, it is a duel release with Assassin’s Creed Unity. This has to be one of the most confusing video game release schedules of all time. Although Unity is getting more press, it seems the smaller title Rouge is getting better a fan reception. Logan Fulford has created an extremely detailed custom Minifigure based on the games protagonist, Shay Patrick Cormack. This little Lego guy features custom sculpting and custom painting to achieve its look. The paint work is well done, especially when you consider the fact that this is only 4cm tall. Hopefully we will see more Lego Assassin’s Creed stuff in the future, it seems like a theme that has a lot of overlap with Lego fans.

Han Solo’s Blaster – A Lego Star Wars Mini MOC

Obedient Machine's Han Solo's Blaster, A Lego Star Wars Mini MOC

Being an infamous scoundrel means that Han Solo has be able to fight (or talk) his way out of any situation. That’s why it is an absolute must to carry a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. Easy to hide, but still deadly in a firefight. This version of Han Solo’s Blaster is a great mini build. The whole gun is built using just 15, or so, Lego pieces. Including a brown carrot, which might just be the most ingenious use for it yet.

Han Solo’s Blaster is the creation of Obedient Machine. See more over at Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/obedientmachine/9474934687/

Hail Mary! – A Lego Friends MOC Starship

The Architect's Lego Freinds MOC: Hail Mary

Hail Mary! is another great entry in the Lego Friends MOC flight genre. There is Mia’s Beauty and Olivia’s Flash, both extremely well made MOCs. Hail Mary is a starship with an experimental design. Having an almost “U” shape, this ship looks like it could be out of Star Wars. The use of the green donut pieces works very well here. The green color gives the impression that Mary is some sort of rogue or bounty hunter. Having two cockpits means that Mary will never have to go alone on a mission. The whole starship looks very impressive.

Lego Friends seems to have found a great place with the rest of the Lego Themes. Showing up in many MOCs and blending in very well. It will be very interesting to see if Lego Friends is here for the long run, so far, it is off to a great start!

Lego X-Men & The Brotherhood Of Mutants

Ricky’s Lego X-Men

The X-Men were and still are my favorite superhero team. Seeing Wolverine and Magneto get their own set recently was great, but what everyone really wants is the whole X-Men team. How cool would a Lego Gambit, and Rogue be? Really cool.

Ricky, of Flickr, just can’t wait for an official Lego X-Men team. So Ricky made his own. Not only that, but he also made a Lego Brotherhood of Mutants. These custom Lego minifigs are great.
